FloridaCommerce Awards $20,000 to the City of Okeechobee to Create a  Market Feasibility Study, Market Analysis Industry Trend Report

OKEECHOBEE, Fla (Sept. 26, 2023) – FloridaCommerce has awarded the City of Okeechobee $20,000 through the Community Planning Technical Assistance (CPTA) grant program, to create a Market Feasibility Study and Industry Trend Report. The Study will  analyze the economic market potential of the City of Okeechobee as a location for new and expanding businesses  and is scheduled to be completed no later than May 2024.

The CPTA grant program provides funding to plan and develop strategies for economic development. The City of Okeechobee has engaged the services of the Central Florida Regional Planning Council (CFRPC) to prepare the study and complete the scope of work outlined in the grant agreement which includes a retail analysis, marketing guide, industry trend report and housing analysis. The Study will identify strategic opportunities for economic development and analyze current and potential consumer markets, providing for opportunities to attract private investment and expand job creation opportunities.

The City and its partners are committed to coordinating and collaborating to promote the City of Okeechobee as a destination for business. Partners in this effort include but are not limited to: the City of Okeechobee, the Okeechobee County Economic Development Corporation, the Economic Council of Okeechobee, Okeechobee Main Street, and the  Chamber of Commerce of Okeechobee County.
